Bad-Ass

It's been awhile since I blogged and trust me this isn't the first thing to impress me in awhile either. I use my blog as my homepage, so I want to look at this everyday for awhile. Nice work CARPS!

Norm Veber , owner of Replicas and Miniatures of Maryland built this vintage minty kit! This is just another reason why Traditional Rod and Kustom in scale forum is the BEST! I love seeing these types of models, hot rods, vintage builds, vintage box art models, drag cars, kustoms and anything that REALLY rocks! No tuners or NASCAR crap!

Before I quit, check this '48 Ford by a fellow Nebraska Jason Scheffler! TRaK4life!

Monogram Little T by Ron S. 1/24 scale

Much respect for the old school when it comes to Hot Rods AND to Model Kits! They just don't put very many cool model kits these days. It's a shame, just look at this Vintage restored T by Ron S.! It's a clear indication that people would buy these in the original design if they were offered up!
I still have mine to build...but there will be at least two other's building theirs before me.

the O.G. '29 RPU/CC Pickup by Revell

I am working on this right now, everything else is aside until I feel like messing with them again. (what else is new?)(as if I need another project)
This is the OriGinal kit Revell did with the opening doors and posable steering etc...They brought it back out not that long ago as a "Rat Rod" kit. BLEH! Looks like some Hot Rods on the cover to me! Anyways, I am going to build it just like the box cover shows it...why not right? It's molded in red, so it's gonna be easy to match :-p I will just polish the plastic to a high shine.

Mongram's original Little T

After a long search and a more detailed longer search I finally came up with one! This came over seas from a good guy I met on Coffin Corner. It's almost all there and the parts missing are going to be a cinch to find I think! I will post finished photo when it's done...love these old Monogram kits!

If you didn't guess by now....

I love the hell out of vintage box art AND especially models that are built to look like the art work! Ron S. a member of TRaK just finished this beauty! Until now, I had never in my life seen one built this way and it's SO nice!

This is the original box end. Below shown is 16B/A built by another friend of mine Dave Charlton who has built a BUNCH of vintage box art models.

Bryce Michelmore's 3-Window is Bitchin'!

"This one was inspired by a Keith Weesner painting I have hanging on my wall called Speed & Style" says Bryce Michelmore of Melbourne, Austrailia.
I am holding a "Build a model from Art" on my forum Traditional Rod and Kustom in scale that ends in August 2009. This is the first I have seen finished and it's absolutely stunning! Killer 3window Bryce!

Monogram's Little T

This line of kits Monogram put out are probably my favorite of their offerings! I might just be building this one next!

BIG DEUCE

If Revell had presented the latest issue like THIS, I would have wanted one badly! Now I have to hope I get lucky one day to buy the original just to build it RIGHT! from instructions submitted by Don Horneff.
Looks like I will wish in one hand and .... to get these too! 1/8 scale takes a lot of shelf space, but when they look this cool, I don't care! Long live old school!

Fresh paint and chop

Just got my Lime Gold '32 back from the shop. It's been chopped 4 inches and a fresh paint job! That guy in the back ground is very jealous don't you think?

'32 5W photoshopped

When I get spare time, I like to mess around with photos. I am not near as good as some guys, but it's fun....none the less! This is a 1/25 scale model in a PS'd Coker Tire ad. I built the model in less than two days, so don't expect a masterpiece haha!

Building a model from Art

This Jairus Watson art inspired me to build it in scale. I am using the AMT 1957 Ford Thunderbird T392 (older kit molded in black). Needless to say, in order to accomplish this task there will be some scratch building, modifying, kit bashing and after market parts involved.

'40 Ford done right!

John Goschke built this beauty. The sharp lines in the scallops (which are painted on) , to the detailed engine compartment make this one stick out from the rest!

It doesn't matter who you are, if you like hot rods this video sounds like heaven!

Some magazines I would love to have

Found these images on eBay or someone emailed them to me. I would like to obtain these some time.

Rod & Custom still one of the best

Some other vintage issues I have or have sold.

Vintage Hot Rod Magazines

Here are some I own or have sold. The cover usually has a lot to say without even opening it to see inside.

Ken Rollins '34 Ford Pickup

This is somewhat dry for entertainment, but still really cool to hear some things Ken says and the truck is beautiful!
