Bad-Ass

It's been awhile since I blogged and trust me this isn't the first thing to impress me in awhile either. I use my blog as my homepage, so I want to look at this everyday for awhile. Nice work CARPS!

Norm Veber , owner of Replicas and Miniatures of Maryland built this vintage minty kit! This is just another reason why Traditional Rod and Kustom in scale forum is the BEST! I love seeing these types of models, hot rods, vintage builds, vintage box art models, drag cars, kustoms and anything that REALLY rocks! No tuners or NASCAR crap!

Before I quit, check this '48 Ford by a fellow Nebraska Jason Scheffler! TRaK4life!

Roger's Chrysler is delicious!

I love TRaK! You just will not see this kind of work anywhere else. Roger Nordhagen is another one of the guys I watch for, he can paint very well and his style is beauty! If you have not joined TRaK yet, you are really wasting your time.

If you didn't guess by now....

I love the hell out of vintage box art AND especially models that are built to look like the art work! Ron S. a member of TRaK just finished this beauty! Until now, I had never in my life seen one built this way and it's SO nice!

This is the original box end. Below shown is 16B/A built by another friend of mine Dave Charlton who has built a BUNCH of vintage box art models.

'64 Galaxie

Another mild ride from my bench! I have little to do before this is finished. This is a curbside kit with no engine. The whitewalls are original Firestones from the old kits in the 1960's and the rims...can't tell ya where they came from but they are sort of like Radir mags but have reversed spoke features. I will be adding spinners to the mags.

Bryce Michelmore's 3-Window is Bitchin'!

"This one was inspired by a Keith Weesner painting I have hanging on my wall called Speed & Style" says Bryce Michelmore of Melbourne, Austrailia.
I am holding a "Build a model from Art" on my forum Traditional Rod and Kustom in scale that ends in August 2009. This is the first I have seen finished and it's absolutely stunning! Killer 3window Bryce!

Leroy Goulart inspired....

"farbeyonddriven" as he likes to be called...a member of my forum "Traditional Rod and Kustom in scale" built this '49 Ford. The work done to this is very typical of early kustomizers trying to outdo their last. You can't replace this era, we can only immitate and he did very well at that!

Yeah the new Revell looks nice, but nothing beats the old AMT new or old tools!

If they want it, they will be made

I had nothing to do with these shirts, but they are starting to appear and that's great! Ed Fluck is the man behind the project. Tom Cowles modeling his new shirt with pride. I plan to do some shirts with a different logo on black....so keep and eye peeled!

TRaK Members in Sweden!

I love my forum, everyone is so cool! Thanks for the great photo guys!

Modelhaus' new Merc is tasty!

This was built by Tom Kren just recently and this has been teasing me! If you want the grille or the whole body, grille and hood...it can be done! www.modelhaus.com
The hubcaps are by Bob Dudek and if you are lucky enough to have a set, you will be like me and save them for something "worthy".

Almost a year

Since last NNL East and the meeting of TRaK members in Wayne, New Jersey. Last year at this time, the amount of members was much less and so it was even harder to spot other members at the NNL East. This year I am REALLY looking forward to some cool photos of TRaK members together and their models. This stuff makes my MONTH! A look back at last year....

I have to get one of these someday! Modelhaus resin kits and I think they are about $75.00. High priced, but they look great built!

Ron S.' '60 Merc

I was going through the archives on TRaK and ran across this baby. It's the reason I wanted a '60 vert to build in the first place! Before this I wanted a hardtop and I still do. This looks so clean and nice with that paint!

Building a model from Art

This Jairus Watson art inspired me to build it in scale. I am using the AMT 1957 Ford Thunderbird T392 (older kit molded in black). Needless to say, in order to accomplish this task there will be some scratch building, modifying, kit bashing and after market parts involved.

Caddy Kick!

Steve Boutte finished his and posted on TRaK ,to enter for "MOM". His interiors and overall completions just make me DROOL!

Jimmy Flintstone's '49 Ford

I finally got done with this today. I tell ya what..this is a really nice body, but it's kinda "fun" putting it together with the AMT kit. The thing is...it's not gonna sit this low without some work, so you have been warned. Painted Oriental Kandy Blue, Modelhaus shoes.

Another Desoto!

I have not seen another one built, let alone as a Mild Kustom since I did mine. Steve Hinson built the "Spanish Fly" and mine is the Kandy Green one. We have met in person, I hope next time we can get photos of them together. His is really slick, the base is so cool too!

Watson style '59 Skyliner

I am just about speechless. I can't say how cool I think this model is! Renaud "ZED" Legardez painted this car twice and the 2nd time around could not be better! He started with one of the Revell "multi peice" body kits. To begin with, these kits were crude but he made them look beautiful!

When blah becomes BLAH.....

And all the sudden out of nowhere comes something that is no longer BLAH! Renaud (ZED) Legardez , member of Traditional Rod and Kustom in scale and a Gold Member of the Drastic Plastics Model Car Club is working on this sweet Watson style '59 Skyliner. I about jumped out of my skin when I saw photos of this posted on TRaK! In fact, this paint job/project has me motivated to try the same on a '60 Buick I am building.
This is not the first time I have seen this done on a model car/ 1/25 scale....but the pattern and colors REALLY did it for me!
