Apple Jack Car Show Nebraska City,NE

Good little show! Some cool cars there, but not an overwhelming "rod and kustom" feel that I prefer....but hey, enjoy what I post or don't look at it. :-p

looks fun!

TRoK of the day

TRoK? Yeah "Traditional Rod or Kustom" instead of AND because I might post either one.
There are so many inspirational rods and kustoms out there that make us modelers want to build more. I don't often see a rod or kustom pop up that starts a frenzy of "replicas" in scale though. This particular '36 Ford has sparked up several projects found around the internet. Show of the real car is a photo from Street Rodder Web.
As you can see this other set of photos is of a model car in 1/25 scale. The builder is "bigDEE". He has done a real nice job so far and I am anticipating a very smooth finish to the shelf! This isn't the only model being built after this car and certainly not the last!

Happy? Veteran's Day

Sorry I don't mean any disrespect, I just don't know if this is a happy holiday.

I admit I have never been much up on war and all that goes with it. I do know that many lives were taken, many people were MIA or POW and that many still are captive or missing.

My grandfather was in the second world war as an MP. He was a guard for the prisoners. His father served in the first world war as a seargant or rifleman or maybe both.

My father in law served in Nam and was right in the line of fire at all times. He sometimes puts on the old reel to reel and watches the footage that he obtained and cries. The film shows extreme detail of first hand war. I don't know why he tortures himself by watching it, but i have to assume it's "to not forget".

My sister in law is in the Air Force and served in Iraq. She has 4 kids , she is 35 and has missed out on many months and even whole years of her kids lives to serve. I don't know if she is just plain crazy or if she is that dedicated to the USA. I know i could not do it.....I could never miss out on my kids lives to serve any purpose no matter what it was. I guess I should be thankful for people like her though, it takes a strong person to do that.

I think that is why this holiday is important. We should not forget our fallen brothers, sisters, dad's, grandfather's,cousins and so on.....no matter how far back they were relation. If it was not for all their bravery we would be so much farther down the ladder.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE.

What happened to the AMT Ford Pickups?

These trucks 60,61,62&63 Ford F100 series pickups were some of the best years I think. I wonder why they only got issued once or twice each? Will we see these again with the new AMT/MPC line? I know the goal is to bring back a bunch of old tools which is GREAT , but I wonder about these trucks? They always sell for big bucks on eBay, even built or missing parts and in bad shape.

'54 Merc AHEM!

I am not the only person to think it would be GREAT! no....not just great but FREAKIN' AWESOME if AMT or REVELL would tool a '54 Merc! Man the REVELL '49 Merc was nice to see one chopped with extra parts included for customizing.....BUT AMT issued the '49 Merc HOW many times? I wish REVELL would have spent the money on a '54! This car has had me drooling for the past week....it's not first time I have seen it, but the more pics I find of it the MORE I want one! Photos as featured from Rod & Custom Magazine, so beautiful thanks for all you do R&C! (outdoor photo) taken at SoCal Speedshop Open House by "?" THANK YOU TOO!

Tribute to the pioneers

I set this prop up and took photos. I really enjoy the older kits as they are not seen as often as the latest tools which seem to be all over the place in a frenzy. I like to be an individual and stick to what I truely love the most. If it's not what everyone else likes, so what? All items in the photos are mine, some of them were sold on eBay almost immediately after these photos due to economic disturbances. More photos here..
